The ICDSM was founded on March 24, 2001 during the 1st European Peace Forum in Berlin.

ICDSM members are from 20 countries. The goals and activities of the ICDSM are being supported by 1300 personalities from more than 30 countries.

The ICDSM has addressed appeals to the President of the Federal Republic Yugoslavia, Dr. Vojislav Kostunica, and to the President of the Government of Serbia, Dr. Zoran Djindjic, for the release of Mr. Slobodan Milosevic in accordance with the provisions of Yugoslav and Serbian law and the ruling of the Yugoslav Constitutional Court.

The ICDSM condemns the unconstitutional and illegal abduction of president Milosevic and his delivery to the Hague "tribunal" as an attack on Yugoslav sovereignty carried out by the USA, NATO and their Serbian puppets. The ICDSM demands the immediate release of president Milosevic from his illegal detention in the Hague and the abolition of the illegitimate so-called "International Criminal Tribunal for Former Yugoslavia" as an extension of NATO and a tool used against the resistance of freedom fighters and patriots.

The ICDSM is supporting the work of national committees in defense of Slobodan Milosevic. These committees have been established in Russia, Italy, Greece, Germany, France, Bulgaria, England and other countries. The ICDSM will coordinate its efforts with these committees.

The ICDSM strongly supports the statements and petitions of 92 Russian senators, of 500,000 citizens of Ukraine, of the Congress of Slavonic Peoples of Belarus, Russia and Ukraine, of MPs from Russia, Ukraine and Belarus and from numerous political parties, NGOs and individuals demanding freedom for president Milosevic and protection of Yugoslavia's sovereignty and territorial integrity.

The ICDSM has established the ICDSM Legal Committee to monitor the legal case against Mr. Milosevic and to take appropriate action from the standpoint of protecting human rights and legality.

ICDSM Attorney Nico Steijnen has brought legal actions defending Mr. Milosevic before the Dutch Courts. Attorney Steijnen has also brought an action before the European Court.
